How to have Peace with God

and go to Heaven

  • Admit you're a sinner. (Romans 3:23)
  • Realize the penalty for sin is death, which is hell. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23)
  • Understand Jesus Christ paid for all our sins by dying on the cross, was buried, and rose from the grave. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • Receive God's gift of salvation by placing your faith in Jesus Christ for: peace with God, forgiveness of your sins, and the promise of going to heaven when you die. (John 3:36)

If you want to recieve God's wonderful gift of salvation, all you have to do is put your faith in Jesus Christ and His payment for your sins alone. You can express you faith in Jesus Christ by praying to God telling Him what you feel in your heart.

If you have just placed your faith in Jesus Christ and His payment for your sins, congradulations! The Bible teaches that you have become a child of God (John 1:12) and have recieved eternal life! (John 3:36) Welcome to the family! This gift can never be taken from you, your sins have been forgiven and your relationship with God has begun.

Because you now have a relationship with God through believing in Jesus, it is important to build that relationship by spending time with God just as you would with an earthly family member. God loves you and wants you and wants you to grow closer to Him. These are some ways to build this relationship:

CPR: How to stay alive, spiritually.

Church- God created the church as His way of connecting believers in Jesus together and providing an opportunity for them to: learn; grow; serve; and love. If you don't have a church to go to, please ask a family member or friend to go with them to their Bible believing church. If that's not possible, please ask us for help finding a church so you can be part of a family of believers in Jesus.

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)

Pray- Praying is talking to God. There are several things that can be done during this time with God. Some of the main things are:

Adoration- Express what you feel toward God, who He is.

"O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens." (Psalm 8:1)

Confession- Admit and turn from things you've done wrong.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

Thanksgiving- Thank God for what He's done for you.

"Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him , and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song." (Psalm 28:6-7)

Supplication- Ask God for His guidance and what you need.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6)

Read- Begin reading the Bible everyday. The Bible is God's words to us. The Bible is our source if we want to learn more about God and our relationship with Him,  Ask God to help you understand it and how to apply what He says to your everyday life. When people ask which book of the Bible to read first, many people suggest reading the book of John.

"All Scripture is Godbreathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
